My Role: Concept Designer, Project Organizer, Drawing Designer Within the project, I developed the concept and help categorize three major topics of the station design. Also, I was responsible for drawing the plans of each station and the final layout.
About
The proposal presented the planning of the blue line metro system in Tainan. The station design consisted of three topics: Military Village Area, Modern Urban Area, and Temple-court Fabric Area, leading the metro system to integrate into the local lifestyle.
Problem
Since most roads were not wide enough to accommodate large tracks and stations, the main problem would be WHAT kind of system platform could properly fit in the urban fabrics. Comparing side platforms and island platforms, the minimum widths were the same but the former one would be 1.5 meters shorter and more flexible to change based on its location. Therefore, the best choice was the side platform.

Concept
Tainan is a cultural city in Taiwan. It retains an antique cultural atmosphere and the convenience of modern facilities. The integration and collision of modern and history become a unique feature. Therefore, the metro station from north to south extracted the story of history and urban texture. By discussing with the architect, I then divided it into three themes: Military Village Area, Modern Urban Area, and Temple-court Fabric Area.

Design Details
The proposal was an overview of each station’s plan and themes as below.
- Military Village Area: B1-B4
- Modern Urban Area: B5-B7, B5 as the intersect station for blue line, green line and long-distance bus station
- Temple-court Fabric Area: B8-B12, B11 as the special station for the cultural center
Military Village Area: e.g. B4

Modern Urban Area: e.g. B5
The concept of “common entrance”: through the composite design of the transfer station and shopping mall, passengers from the Blue Line and the future Green Line will use the common entrance to reach each floor and the bridge to travel between the station and the building.

Temple-court Fabric Area: e.g. B8

Special Station: B11 Cultural Center Station
Barclay Memorial Park, located on the southeast side of station B10, has become a new landmark of Tainan, and the station is also named after Tainan Cultural Center on the northeast side. Apparently, the location of this station is relatively special. The team, therefore, recommends that the station be a special station on the blue line.
Besides, the future station plan can incorporate the concept of public art and environmental sustainability to enrich culture and boost tourism.
