About
Waterland Gallery was located beside the lake, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Here the gallery brings art into nature, bringing nature into art, establishing a place for people to find peace of mind.
Concept
Chengcing Lake was like the lung of the city, bringing greenery into urban life. Lots of citizens would come to the lake for relaxing and finding peace of mind. Therefore, I introduced art as a medium for people to get involved in nature.
Design Details
The site was located at an endpoint of a peninsula-shaped land beside Chengcing Lake.

People could walk through the trail towards the site. The north pavilion would become the welcome gateway, which would first encounter straight walls as showing boards for art. Within the site, the buildings were constructed by two axles, one for the gallery and the other for the cafe, leading the visual to the lake.

The linear buildings were built toward the lake. The roof crossed the gallery following the axle that was the same as the cafe and become the peak showing within the trees.

The drawings below showed the scenarios for people walking around the site.
